Entrepreneurship that Ignites

In the world’s most challenging economic environments, traditional job opportunities are scarce. People must create opportunities for themselves and their communities. They are entrepreneurs by necessity, but success is often obstructed by various historical and environmental factors. Limited access to information, mentors, capital, and other resources constrain progress.

As a business incubator, we partner with these impressive entrepreneurs to facilitate skill building, mentoring, market, and financial connections. We foster a learn-by-doing environment founded in extended partnership rather than “one-and-done” training.

Unconventional Business Incubation

In the world of business incubators, we’re unconventional. Alongside our work with more traditional entrepreneurs in brick-and-mortar entrepreneurship centers, we specialize in partnering with individuals often described as living in “extreme poverty,” or on less than $54 a month.

Because we believe that lasting solutions come from local problem solvers, not foreign aid, we equip local people with the tools, connections, and resources to solve their own problems in ways that will last.

Our role is simple: we equip people to ignite change in their own lives

Local Trade, Not Foreign Aid

Lasting change comes through local trade, not foreign aid.

Driven by our own entrepreneurial spirit, we have learned to leverage business thinking, efficient systems, and healthy relationships to create clear, measurable, and lasting results in the lives of individuals, families, and communities around the world. Not through aid, but through trade.

Our ready-made, field-proven approaches equip partners to increase their incomes, grow profitable businesses, and multiply income. Alongside our local partners, we adapt these approaches to suit the unique needs of those partners and their environments.

Flint takes an inquiry-based and holistic approach to generating solutions. We have developed specific tools, training programs, expertise, and connections that are easily adapted to the unique circumstances of each partnership.

Agricultural Application

Farmers make up the majority of the global population living on less than $54 a month.  Gaps in agricultural, business, and market knowledge constrain opportunity. Our partnerships address these gaps. We collaborate with farmers—both groups and individuals—in “farmerpreneurship” and agribusiness development by addressing market connections, knowledge, skills, and access to capital.

Sustainability Partnerships

Local leaders, businesses, and on-the-ground nonprofits who serve the financially vulnerable often struggle to pay their own bills. This struggle threatens their ability to serve their community into the future. We work hand-in-hand with these impressive partners. Through our collaborations, our partners develop and implement business models that enable financial self-reliance and continued service to their communities.
