Every year thousands of orphaned and at-risk youth face the difficult life transition to adulthood and independent living.
Many dream of furthering their education, starting a career, providing for their families, traveling the world, and giving back to their community.
But orphaned and abandoned youth have to overcome incredible obstacles to reach these goals and successfully transition to a stable, independent life.
For countless disadvantaged youth, the transition to independence looks like a giant cliff.
We want to turn that cliff into a bridge.
"After graduating as a nursing assistant, I could not find work because of my lack of experience. Then I learned about Flint Global’s program that trained people in different life areas such as living independently, ways to save money, how to create a resume, how to respond in an interview. Additionally, they provided a paid internship. I feel like this was a great opportunity for us since we often lack this critical knowledge. I am infinitely grateful for this opportunity."

"The program is good for creating leaders and teaching them how to live in the real world. It is good because it teaches us how to be independent and be able to manage money in the best way. I also learned how to handle credit cards, manage money well, and how to use our savings account."
- José David in Honduras
"The Flint program has impacted my life so much for good. I enjoy every class we have. They have taught me that there are many viable work opportunities for me, and that as a woman I am capable of accomplishing extraordinary things. Thanks to the Flint program my life has new meaning and now I have new tools to move forward in life despite my past. Thank you for supporting youth in Guatemala and inspiring us to keep going!"

Flint Global serves orphaned and at-risk youth (ages 15-25) by equipping local orphan homes and other non-profit organizations to provide Flint's Thriving Skills program to youth preparing for the transition to independence, work, and adulthood. Thriving Skills is a practical life and job training program with regular classes, field trips, mentoring, and in some cases paid internships.
Through this process, students are empowered to learn the skills necessary for independence and work, to develop a mindset necessary for healthy decision making in adulthood, and to access to real employment and/or business opportunities through networking and coaching.
